Kuala lumpur: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku’s (STAR) Kundasang division is giving its full support to Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th Sabah state election to ensure that the political stability in the state is preserved. Kundasang STAR division chief Jain Sauting said part of the struggle they champion is to ensure the realisation of the 40 per cent net federal revenue to Sabah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, under the previous GRS government, they succeeded till there was a decision that they could secure the matter. Jain Sauting expressed hope that through STAR’s decision to support and work with GRS, they can achieve their goals, especially in delivering the people’s aspirations for a stable government. He also called on all STAR members and supporters to unite to ensure GRS’ victory in Kundasang in this election.
The STAR president had announced the party’s withdrawal from GRS on Oct 7. Meanwhile, GRS candidate for the Kundasang state seat, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, who is the incumbent, was grateful and welcomed the support. He stated that the support was not merely political cooperation but a joint struggle for a more stable and prosperous Sabah.
Kundasang, together with Karanaan and Paginatan, make up the Ranau parliamentary constituency.
