Kuching City FC Dominates TRW with 4-0 Victory in Super League Opener

Kuching: Kuching City FC’s 4-0 victory over Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) in their opening Super League match of the 2025/2026 season last night not only secured three valuable points, but also served as an early morale booster for Aidil Sharin Sahak’s squad to face the challenges ahead.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuching City FC assistant head coach Firdaus Morshidi acknowledged that the triumph at the Sarawak Stadium did not mean the team could rest on their laurels, as there were still many aspects to improve on, given that several players were new and still adapting to the team’s style of play.

Morshidi noted that the players performed well on the field and gave their full effort, mirroring their training sessions leading up to the match. He emphasized that the victory was an integral part of their strategy to instill positive momentum within the squad.

In preparation for their upcoming matches, Morshidi stated that the team’s immediate focus is on the FA Cup clash against Brunei DPMM on August 16, followed by a return to Super League action against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) on August 24. He mentioned that any changes to the starting line-up would depend on the players’ fitness and injury status.

He expressed optimism about the team’s prospects in the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup, suggesting that maintaining their performance could lead to significant achievements. He conveyed hope for success, with the ultimate goal being to win these competitions.

In the recent match, Wanja Ronald Ngah was a standout performer, scoring twice in the sixth and 71st minutes. Joao Pedro and Ramadhan Saifullah also contributed to the victory, scoring in the 17th minute and injury time, respectively, leading to a decisive win for the Cats over Elavarasan Elangowan’s squad.
