KTMB Introduces Extra ETS Trains for Chinese New Year and School Holiday Travel

Kuala Lumpur: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will provide two additional electric train (ETS) services for the KL Sentral to Butterworth route and vice versa in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration and school holidays. In a statement today, KTMB announced that tickets for these additional trains would be available for purchase starting tomorrow, January 29, at 10 am, for journeys scheduled between January 30 and February 2.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the additional trains will operate for four consecutive days, offering 630 seats daily, including business class facilities, which totals a capacity of 2,520 seats. The trains are scheduled to depart from KL Sentral at 4.45 pm, arriving in Butterworth at 8.50 pm. Conversely, trains from Butterworth will leave at 11.20 am and are set to reach KL Sentral by 3.25 pm.

KTMB has introduced these additional ETS services to meet the high passenger demand typically associated with the holiday period, ensuring that travelers experience a safe and comfortable journey. Tickets can be purchased through various channels, including the KTM Mobile (KITS) application, the KTMB website at www.ktmb.com.my, or by contacting the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.
