Kuala lumpur: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will be adding two extra Electric Train Service (ETS) services for the Padang Besar to Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) route, and vice versa, for Deepavali on Oct 20.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, KTMB announced that this supplementary service will run from Oct 17 to 22, with ticket sales opening from 10 am on Tuesday, Oct 7. The additional services will provide 630 seats per day, increasing the total number of seats available, including in business class, over the period to 3,780.
The extra service is intended to meet the high demand during the festive season and help alleviate road traffic congestion for those traveling to their hometowns. For the Padang Besar to KL Sentral route, the additional service will depart at 11.05 am and is scheduled to arrive at 4.30 pm. The return service from KL Sentral to Padang Besar will depart at 5.00 pm, arriving at 10.20 pm.
KTMB advises customers to purchase their tickets via the KTMB Mobile app (KITS) or the KTMB website and to use the KTM Wallet to expedite payments. Passengers are also encouraged to plan their journeys and buy tickets early to take advantage of cheaper, flexible fares and to avoid last-minute purchases. The statement also reminded travelers to arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure, as the gates will close five minutes before the train is scheduled to leave.
