Kuala lumpur: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar congratulated Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad on her appointment as the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) secretary-general, effective today. Shamsul Azri expressed confidence in Suriani's competence and experience.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri stated that Suriani is expected to drive excellence across KKDW's initiatives in economic development and enhance rural wellbeing through the public service reform agenda, aligning with Malaysia MADANI goals. He emphasized Suriani's academic credentials, noting her Bachelor of Communication (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a Master of Arts in Strategy and Diplomacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Shamsul Azri highlighted Suriani's extensive experience in government administration, public policy, and international relations. Over her career, she has held several key roles, including serving as secretary-general in the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry, and the Health Ministry.
