KPKT To Spearhead PMR 2026 In Perak, Enhancing Service Access

Perak: The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) will lead the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026 in Perak, scheduled from April 3 to 5 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Persiaran Meru, with the state government as host.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on April 4, demonstrating the MADANI government's commitment to engaging directly with citizens and improving service delivery at the community level.

The programme, themed 'Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities', will emphasize KPKT's role in promoting sustainable urban development, increasing access to quality housing, and fostering inclusive communities. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming stated that the ministry is dedicated to ensuring the three-day event provides an effective platform for the public to directly experience and benefit from government initiatives.

He encouraged public participation in the event to benefit from the variety of services and activities available. 'Visitors can look forward to government services, welfare initiatives, health services, MADANI Rahmah Sales and Agro Sales, job opportunities, local food festivals, entrepreneur showcases and various community programmes,' he said.

The highlights include community-focused activities such as helmet exchange programmes, free motorcycle engine oil changes, complimentary haircuts, distribution of seeds and saplings, and exhibitions featuring defense and security assets.

Additionally, KPKT is coordinating satellite programmes in Ipoh and Tambun from March 28 to April 3, focusing on housing initiatives, community safety, digitalization of local government services, landscaping programmes and MADANI community activities.

The organisation of PMR 2026 reflects strong collaboration between federal and state governments, aligning with the Malaysia MADANI vision of inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric development. The programme is expected to strengthen ties between the government and the public, while raising awareness of development initiatives, housing opportunities, and community programmes at the state level.
