Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated an additional RM20 million to local authorities in Perak to facilitate the repaving of approximately 800 residential roads across the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming announced the allocation breakdown, stating that the Manjung Municipal Council will receive RM5 million, the Teluk Intan Municipal Council will get RM3.08 million, and the Taiping Municipal Council will also receive RM3.1 million. The remaining funds will be distributed among district councils and other local authorities in Perak.

Previously, on December 23, the KPKT had allocated RM20 million to the Ipoh City Council for the repaving of 400 residential roads in the city area. During his working visit, Nga noted the completion of road repaving in Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh, a project awaited by residents for over 25 years, covering approximately 3.2 kilometers at a cost of nearly RM1.9 million.

Furthermore, while visiting Kg Tawas Hall, Nga presented a cheque for RM116,760 as a donation to St. Michael's and All Angels Church Ipoh under the Non-Muslim House of Worship Initiative.
