KPKT Allocates RM2 mln To Upgrade Public Facilities In Jelapang, Batu Gajah

Jelapang: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated nearly RM2.1 million to carry out repair works on a public market, recreational park, and food court in Jelapang here, as well as drainage and sewerage systems in Pusing, Batu Gajah. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming announced that the allocation, to be channelled through the Department of Local Government (JKT), is intended to upgrade public facilities to enhance the quality of life for residents.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the allocation for Jelapang includes RM1 million for the Jelapang Public Market, RM450,000 for Taman MADANI, RM428,000 for Medan Selera MADANI, and RM200,000 for drainage and sewerage systems in Pusing, Batu Gajah. Minister Nga Kor Ming shared that the approved funds are part of a commitment from the MADANI Government to ensure the work begins and concludes within the current year.

The announcement was made during the Jelapang state constituency Chinese New Year celebration, which was attended by Batu Gajah Member of Parliament Dr. V. Sivakumar and Jelapang assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian. Meanwhile, KPKT, in a statement, emphasized its continued focus on maintaining and upgrading public facilities, particularly markets, recreational parks, and food courts, as they play a crucial role in local communities.
