Melaka: The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has announced an allocation of RM128.2 million dedicated to 24 projects across 12 areas of infrastructure development in Melaka. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for residents in the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Nga Kor Ming emphasized that the allocation demonstrates the ministry's dedication to addressing community needs by engaging directly with residents. He articulated the ministry's Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as fostering satisfaction among the populace, aligning with the MADANI government's commitment to well-being.

Nga highlighted various projects, including repainting Pangsapuri Sri Siantan, which had not seen such maintenance for 30 years. Notable undertakings include the construction of additional cells at the Sungai Udang solid waste landfill, budgeted at RM32.8 million, and the development of 390 Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) units costing RM29.6 million. Additionally, RM24.9 million is allocated for infrastructure upgrades, covering areas such as the Melaka Sentral Main Market, Jasin New Market, MADANI stalls, food courts, public toilet maintenance, and slope repairs.

The ministry has set aside RM10 million for affordable housing under the PR1MA Residential Development Programme Phase 1 in Padang Temu and RM8.5 million for People's Residences (PRR) projects in Klebang, Bukit Katil, and Paya Rumput. Other funding includes RM5.8 million for the maintenance and upgrading of 17 Housing Maintenance Programme (PPP) projects and 11 Malaysian Housing Maintenance Fund (TPPM) projects, as well as RM5.4 million for maintaining 35 non-Muslim houses of worship (RIBI) across Melaka.

Remaining funds will address the repair of 125 houses, the construction of 11 new homes, public park upgrades, enhancements to the Jalan Kubu Fire and Rescue Station, development of six New Villages, and various studies and rating programs related to Melaka's structural plan.
