KPJ Healthcare Posts Higher FY2024 Net Profit Of RM353.81 Mln On Cost Cuts, Efficiency

Kuala Lumpur: KPJ Healthcare Bhd posted a net profit of RM353.81 million for financial year 2024 (FY2024), up from RM263.40 million a year earlier, driven by cost optimisation, operational efficiency and patient-centric investments. It also recorded a net gain from the divestment of its aged care business in Australia, classified under discontinued operations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, revenue rose to RM3.92 billion from RM3.42 billion, as stated in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday. Capital expenditure surged 66 per cent to RM406 million in 2024 from RM244 million in 2023. The bed occupancy rate increased to 69 per cent from 67 per cent. Inpatient admissions rose to 388,101 from 361,987, while outpatient visits edged up to 3.00 million from 2.95 million.

KPJ Healthcare emphasized that this strategic investment supports infrastructure development, digital transformation, and service enhancements across its network, strengthening long-term resilience and advancing healthcare delivery. For the three months ended Dec 31, 2024, KPJ’s net profit jumped to RM120.51 million from RM73.39 million a year earlier, while revenue climbed to RM1.05 billion from RM911.45 million.

KPJ remains focused on long-term sustainable growth, leveraging technology, strategic partnerships, and patient-centric innovations to enhance the patient experience, expand health tourism, and create value for shareholders, according to its president and managing director, Chin Keat Chyuan. He stated that managing staff costs remains a priority for 2025, alongside efforts in cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
