Senai: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) successfully thwarted an attempt to misappropriate 2,400 litres of diesel during Ops Tiris 4.0 at a petrol station on Jalan Seelong, Senai, around 2pm yesterday. Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo revealed that the operation was initiated based on information and intelligence regarding diesel purchases potentially infringing the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, enforcement personnel identified a suspicious lorry equipped with a storage tank and necessary equipment for diesel collection, actively filling diesel into the tank. Items seized during the operation included the lorry, four Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tanks, a flow meter, four pumps with hoses, two mobile phones, and approximately 2,400 litres of liquid suspected to be diesel. Additionally, KPDN confiscated 15 fleet cards along with five receipts or invoices related to the fuel transactions.

Two local men in their 30s, present in the lorry, were detained to aid in the investigation. Document checks further indicated that the petrol station operator might have violated Subregulation 12A of the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974. Lilis Saslinda stated that the value of the seized items is estimated at around RM60,660. The ongoing investigation is being conducted under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
