KPDN Targets RM300,000 in Sales at Southern Zone Carnival Tour

Kuala lumpur: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) is eyeing over RM300,000 in sales through the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign (KBBM) during its Southern Zone Carnival Tour 2025, which kicked off yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KPDN Business Development Division director Adiratno Che Ani reported that the KBBM pavilion achieved RM93,910 in sales on the first day, despite overlapping with several large-scale events in the state. He expressed confidence in the purchasing power of Johor consumers to help exceed RM300,000 in total sales over the three-day event, which features 63 vendors.

The pavilion hosts entrepreneurs from Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan, showcasing a range of local brands that are gaining consumer popularity. Participating companies include recognized names like Zus Coffee, Adabi, and Mamee Double Decker, along with strategic partners such as Proton and Perodua, which are displaying their products outside the pavilion.

The campaign emphasizes not only food and beverages but also household items, health and beauty products, clothing, and other lifestyle goods from local entrepreneurs. KBBM has been revitalized to enhance public awareness and trust in locally made products, which are seen as equivalent in quality to international brands. It aims to provide local entrepreneurs with opportunities to access broader markets.

Adiratno encouraged the public to visit the carnival during the long weekend to support local vendors, many of whom may not yet be widely recognized as Malaysian-made brands. He noted that some products are so well-branded that consumers may not realize they are local, making this an ideal opportunity to discover, try, and support Malaysian-made goods.

The KBBM 2025, launched by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, seeks to expand the market reach of local products, reduce dependence on imports, enhance domestic economic growth, and support local entrepreneurs, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
