Tasek banding: The Perak enforcement division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 79 cylinders of subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that were being used without permission at a floating house in Tasek Banding near Gerik yesterday. Its director, Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, said the 1.30 pm raid was carried out following intelligence information and a week of monitoring at the location.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the enforcement team found 79 12-kilogramme cylinders of subsidised LPG during the raid. These were allegedly used without permission for heating water for fish treatment. The team seized the LPG cylinders and several related documents, with the value of the seizure estimated at RM7,460, Kamalludin stated in a statement today.
Kamalludin mentioned that the floating house owner is suspected of committing an offence under the Supply Control Regulations (PPKB) 1974 for storing scheduled controlled goods without a permit. He added that the supplier of the LPG involved will also be investigated for suspected violation of Regulation 9(2) (PPKB) 1974 for selling scheduled controlled goods to unauthorised parties, constituting an offence under Regulation 21(1) PPKB 1974.
