Kolej Ketengah Rebrands to Enhance Technical and Vocational Education

Kuala terengganu: Kolej Lembaga Kemajuan Terengganu Tengah (Ketengah) will be rebranded as Kolej Pendidikan dan Latihan Teknikal dan Vokasional (TVET) Ketengah to strengthen its role as a leading technical and vocational education provider in the state. Chairman of Kolej Ketengah Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman stated that this rebranding aligns with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development's aspiration to cultivate more highly skilled young talent.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the rebranding initiative aims to ensure the college remains relevant to industry needs and current job market demands while expanding access to skills-based education for students. Ahmad Razif highlighted several initiatives for the establishment of Kolej TVET Ketengah, including joint programmes and collaborations with local higher education institutions and private companies.

The college plans to collaborate with Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) to optimize facility costs, with practical training conducted at partner institutions. Moreover, the college will focus on professional programmes such as automotive studies through a collaboration with Perodua, allowing students to undergo industrial training with the company before joining the workforce.

Ahmad Razif further noted that the college has established collaborations with other higher education institutions such as Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), and Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM).

Additionally, the college's Diploma in Islamic Tourism Management programme, introduced in 2022, has received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on January 18. Ahmad Razif stated that the MQA accreditation provides confidence to students applying to pursue the programme at the college.
