KLCI Futures See Gains as Cash Market Strengthens

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, in line with the underlying cash market's strong performance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the April 2026 contract added 5.5 points to 1,717.50. Both the May 2026 and June 2026 contracts increased by 6.0 points, reaching 1,719.00 and 1,718.00, respectively. The September 2026 contract saw an addition of 5.0 points, closing at 1,696.50.

Turnover surged significantly to 11,523 lots from the previous 6,661 lots recorded on Wednesday. Open interest also saw an increase, rising to 44,801 contracts compared to the prior 39,107 contracts.

At the close of the market at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI advanced by 11.31 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 1,721.70, up from Wednesday's close of 1,710.39.
