Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Wednesday, tracking the performance of the cash market. The July 2026 and September 2026 contracts experienced a decrease of 3.5 points, settling at 1,717.0 and 1,696.5, respectively.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 and December 2026 contracts also saw a decline, losing 2.5 points to close at 1,718.0 and 1,700.5, respectively. There was a noticeable reduction in turnover, which dropped to 5,802 lots from 7,839 on Tuesday. Additionally, open interest saw a decrease, falling to 45,095 contracts compared to 47,989 previously.
At the close of trading, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) itself fell by nine points, or 0.52 percent, settling at 1,711.37, down from Tuesday's closing figure of 1,720.37.
