Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, aligning with the weaker performance observed in the cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the KLCI futures for May 2026, June 2026, and December 2026 experienced a decrease of 12.5 points each, settling at 1,730.0, 1,729.0, and 1,712.0, respectively. The September 2026 contract saw a larger decline, sliding by 13.0 points to close at 1,710.0.
Turnover increased to 5,752 lots from 5,592 lots last Friday. However, open interest showed a decrease, moving down to 36,031 contracts from the previous 36,232 contracts. At the close of trading at 5 pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) had slipped by 12.51 points, or 0.72 percent, to 1,727.71, compared to last Friday's closing figure of 1,740.22.
