KLCI Futures Experience Slight Decline Amidst Market Opening

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts opened lower on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives on Wednesday, signaling cautious sentiments among investors.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.32 am, the July 2026 contract eased by 2.5 points to 1,718.0. Concurrently, the August 2026 contract saw a decline of 1.0 point to 1,719.5, while the September 2026 contract gave up two points to settle at 1,698.5. The December 2026 contract was down by three points, closing at 1,700.0.

Turnover for the futures stood at 1,320 lots, with open interest totaling 41,788 contracts. This reflected a moderate level of trading activity and investor engagement in the market. By 9.53 am, the FBM KLCI itself had fallen 4.11 points to 1,716.26, compared to the previous day's close of 1,720.37.
