Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Friday, marking a positive shift in the market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the July 2026 contract saw an increase of 16.0 points, closing at 1,699.50. The August 2026 and December 2026 futures contracts each rose by 17.0 points, reaching 1,701.0 and 1,683.0, respectively. Additionally, the September 2026 contract advanced by 17.5 points, ending at 1,681.0.
The turnover for the day increased significantly, recording 7,785 lots compared to 5,815 lots on Thursday. Open interest also saw a rise, climbing to 40,493 contracts from 36,724 previously. By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself rose 13.85 points, settling at 1,691.49 from the previous day's close of 1,677.64.
