KLCI Futures Experience Decline in Opening Session

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures experienced a decline during the opening session on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, contrasting with the cash market performance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.55 am, the April 2026 contract decreased by four points to 1,722.0. Similarly, the May 2026 and June 2026 contracts each dropped by 4.5 points to 1,721.5 and 1,720.0, respectively. The September 2026 contract also saw a reduction of 2.5 points, settling at 1,703.5.

The turnover for these contracts stood at 7,149 lots, with open interest amounting to 57,266 contracts. Following the first hour of trading, the FBM KLCI itself fell by 5.93 points to 1,723.67, compared to Tuesday's closing of 1,729.60.
