KLCI Futures End on Lower Note as Cash Market Softens

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower in line with a softer performance in the cash market. The June 2026 contract experienced a decrease of three points, closing at 1,668.0. Similarly, the July 2026 contract dropped 5.5 points to 1,670.5, while the September 2026 contract decreased by five points to 1,653.5. The December 2026 contract also saw a reduction, settling 3.5 points lower at 1,656.0.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the market turnover significantly declined to 12,448 lots from 30,793 lots on Monday, indicating a reduced trading volume. Additionally, open interest saw a decrease, slipping to 42,022 contracts from 62,025 contracts recorded the previous day.

As of 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself eased by 1.85 points, closing at 1,664.06 compared to Monday's close of 1,665.91, reflecting the overall softer trend in the market.
