Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Wednesday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 contract surged 23 points to 1,755, while the September 2026 contract added 21.5 points to 1,732.5. The December 2026 contract witnessed a gain of 18.5 points to 1,733 and the March 2027 contract rose by 21 points to 1,718.

Turnover saw an increase to 11,060 lots from 6,338 on Tuesday. Open interest was also higher, reaching 51,278 contracts compared to 45,621 previously.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI rose by 15.51 points to 1,748.17, as opposed to Tuesday's close of 1,732.66.
