Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Friday. The trading session saw the September 2026 contract rising by three points to settle at 1,686.0, while the October 2026 contract gained 3.5 points to end at 1,685.0. The December 2026 contract increased by 2.5 points to 1,690.5, and the March 2027 contract rose by one point to close at 1,674.5.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the turnover for the session decreased to 4,745 lots compared to 7,488 lots recorded on Thursday. Additionally, open interest saw a decline, sliding to 43,322 contracts from the previous 45,989 contracts. Despite the positive performance in futures contracts, the FBM KLCI index itself eased by 7.03 points, closing at 1,708.10 compared with 1,715.13 in the prior session.
