Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Thursday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 contract dropped 7.5 points to 1,743.5, marking a downturn in the futures market. The September 2026 contract experienced a more significant loss, dropping 13 points to 1,723.0. Meanwhile, the December 2026 and March 2027 contracts both recorded a decline of 10 points, settling at 1,727.0 and 1,710.5, respectively.
Turnover for the day decreased substantially to 52,147 lots from the previous day's close of 111,565 lots. Concurrently, open interest saw a contraction, falling to 104,433 contracts from 159,186. The overall market performance showed a decline as the FBM KLCI itself slid 6.82 points, closing at 1,741.72 compared with Wednesday's close of 1,748.54.
