KLCI Futures Contracts Gain as Cash Market Strengthens

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher, in alignment with the steady performance observed in the cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the May 2026, September 2026, and December 2026 contracts increased by 3.5 points to 1,747.5, 1,729.0, and 1,733.5, respectively. The June 2026 contract saw a more significant rise of four points, closing at 1,747.0.

The turnover for the day saw a decrease, with 7,294 lots traded compared to 9,260 lots on the previous day. Open interest also saw a reduction, narrowing to 38,479 contracts from 39,171 contracts.

By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI had risen by 7.66 points, or 0.44 percent, closing at 1,747.43, up from Monday's close of 1,739.77.
