KLCI Futures Contract Sees Decline on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Thursday, marking a downturn in the market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 and September 2026 contracts fell by 12 points each, settling at 1,732.0 and 1,710.0, respectively. Meanwhile, the December 2026 contract experienced a reduction of nine points to 1,712.5, and the March 2027 contract saw a decrease of 10.5 points, closing at 1,695.5.

Turnover experienced a decline, dropping to 6,629 lots from 7,336 lots recorded on Wednesday. Similarly, open interest decreased to 44,568 contracts, down from the previous 46,046 contracts. At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself had fallen by 6.90 points, or 0.40 percent, to finish at 1,734.71, compared to its previous closing value of 1,741.61 on Wednesday.
