KLCI Futures Close Higher, Tracking Cash Market Gains

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today, reflecting gains in the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the December 2025 contract gained 11 points to settle at 1,679.5. Meanwhile, the January 2026 contract saw an increase of 10.5 points to close at 1,682.50. The March 2026 contract added 11.5 points, finishing at 1,667.0, and the June 2026 contract rose by 6.5 points to end at 1,669.0.

Turnover for the futures increased significantly to 14,280 lots from the previous week's 8,711 lots. Open interest also showed growth, rising to 51,755 contracts from 46,114 previously.

At the 5 pm close, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI itself rose by 5.39 points, or 0.32 percent, to reach 1,671.29, compared to Friday's closing figure of 1,665.90, marking its intraday high.
