KLCC LRT Station Reopens After Small Fire

KUALA LUMPUR: The KLCC Light Rail Transit (LRT) Station has resumed operations after a temporary closure due to a small fire. The station reopened to passengers at 5:52 p.m., with staff managing entry to ensure safe movement and prevent overcrowding.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd announced that alternative transportation options are available, including free shuttle bus services to the Dang Wangi LRT Station and the Ampang Park LRT Station. Passengers can also use the Kelana Jaya Line, Putrajaya Line, and KL Monorail from nearby stations as alternatives.

The fire, which began at 3:51 p.m., damaged the air-conditioning control panel in the station’s plant room. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department, led by operations commander Mohamed Azimin Mohamed Zahidi, reported no casualties. The fire was extinguished by KLCC’s Emergency Response Team before the arrival of a fire engine with seven personnel.

Rapid Rail has apologized for the inconvenience caused and committed to cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident’s cause.
