Kuala lumpur: The Kuala Lumpur office of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is stepping up efforts to combat corruption at the grassroots level through the Wira Antirasuah (WAR) programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Pasar 1 (SKJP1) here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, its director Mohamad Zakkuan Talib emphasized the importance of instilling integrity from an early age, viewing it as a long-term investment in nurturing a principled younger generation with the courage to reject all forms of misconduct. He remarked, "A true hero does not necessarily have extraordinary powers, but is someone who has the courage to do the right thing."

The programme, aimed at instilling good values among pupils, featured various interactive activities, including a briefing by the Kuala Lumpur MACC Community Education Branch (PenMas), as well as a session with Kapten MACC, the commission's mascot. Mohamad Zakkuan also launched the SKJP1 Anti-Corruption Corner as a platform for providing school staff and pupils with information on integrity.

In addition to awareness activities, the welfare of pupils was also given attention through the donation of a smart TV by Yayasan Prihatin SPRM to the school, as well as school aid for 29 pupils from asnaf families. As a symbolic show of support for the Keep Malaysia Clean (KMC) campaign and in conjunction with the National Month celebrations, the programme saw the school's special education pupils planting hibiscus.
