San Jose:Kioxia Corporation has launched its first E1.L form factor solid-state drive (SSD) utilizing eighth-generation BiCS FLASH quad-level cell (QLC) flash memory. The new product aims to address the rising data demands driven by artificial intelligence and other factors in hyperscale data centers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the KIOXIA LD4 Series SSD is designed for high-density 1U servers and read-intensive storage applications. It is currently being sampled to select customers and will be featured at the 2026 OCP Global Summit in San Jose, California, from October 12 to 15.
The SSD series supports PCIe 5.0 and the NVMe 2.0e specification, aligning with the Open Compute Project (OCP) Datacenter NVMe SSD Specification v2.6. It boasts a single-port design and is available in capacities of 15.36 terabytes (TB) and 30.72 TB, with the architecture capable of supporting up to 122.88 TB.
Kioxia focuses on developing, producing, and selling flash memory and SSDs. Its BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory technology is utilized in a variety of storage applications across data centers, smartphones, and automotive systems.
