Kuala lumpur: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has emphasised that prudent public spending is essential to ensure national resources are managed efficiently and effectively. In a Facebook post today, His Majesty said such an approach is crucial as the country faces global economic uncertainty.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the King also noted the government's cost-saving measures aimed at strengthening the nation's financial position. Sultan Ibrahim made these remarks while granting an audience to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku. Also present during the meeting were National Security Council director-general Datuk Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin and Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Kamadjaja Aziz.
During the meeting, His Majesty was briefed on the latest developments in the economy and national security. The briefing addressed issues such as the cost of living and measures taken by the government to ensure sustainable economic growth. It also covered national security matters, including internal security, border control, and the preparedness of security forces.
The post stated that the briefing reflected His Majesty's concern over current national developments, underscoring the importance of maintaining a stable economic and security environment in light of global challenges.
