Khairul Azwan Harun Concludes Tenure as Halal Development Corporation Chairman


Kuala Lumpur: Khairul Azwan Harun has concluded his service as the chairman of the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) Bhd, effective May 17, as announced by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).



According to BERNAMA News Agency, Khairul Azwan was appointed to the position on May 18, 2023. In a recent post on X, MITI expressed its gratitude for his contributions and dedicated service during his time as chairman of HDC. The ministry expressed hope that he would continue to provide exemplary service to the nation across various fields in the future.



Khairul Azwan holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the Open University Malaysia and has completed a global leadership course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States. He currently serves as the chairman of VSolar Group Bhd and has previously held chairman positions at mTouche Technology Bhd and Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV).



HDC is recognized as the leading body driving the development of an integrated and comprehensive halal ecosystem and infrastructure, aiming to position Malaysia as a leader in the global halal industry. Established on September 18, 2006, HDC acts as the main coordinator to encourage participation and facilitate the growth of industry players in the development of Malaysia’s Halal ecosystem.
