Ketengah To Revive Stalled Housing Project In Kampung Air Putih

Kampung air putih: The Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) will revive the Housing Development Programme (PPK) project in Kampung Air Putih, which has been stalled for nearly two years, with an additional allocation of RM3 million. Its chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat stated that the project, approved by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, includes the construction of 185 houses, a surau, a kindergarten, and a playground on a 16.8-hectare site, and is expected to resume soon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Rozi Mamat mentioned that the contractor has been given six months to complete the remaining six percent of the project. This statement was made after he inspected the site, accompanied by Ketengah general manager Datuk Tengku Ahmad Nadzri Tengku Musa. Rozi further explained that the project was initially allocated RM20.399 million, with construction beginning in 2019.

The development faced a halt in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although work resumed in 2022, it was stopped again in June 2024 due to technical issues. Rozi emphasized that the project aims to provide free housing for residents affected by floods and low-income families. He expressed hope that with the resumption of this project, the wait for eligible residents to move into their homes will soon come to an end.
