Ketengah Holding Sdn Bhd Contributes RM6.2 Mln In Zakat To MAIDAM

Kuala lumpur: Ketengah Holding Sdn Bhd (KHSB), a subsidiary of Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah), contributed RM6.2 million in zakat (tithe) to the Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM) this year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ketengah general manager Datuk Tengku Ahmad Nadzri Tengku Musa stated that the contribution was derived from profits generated by companies under the KHSB group. The group includes plantation and manufacturing companies primarily involved in the production and processing of oil palm, with additional ventures in quarrying, property, tourism, education, and livestock farming.

The statement was made during the Ketengah Holdings Zakat Distribution Ceremony for the Dungun parliamentary constituency, held at Bandar Al-Muktafi Billah Shah. The event was officiated by Dungun Parliamentary Kemas Community chairman Datuk Din Adam.

At the ceremony, 320 individuals from the constituency received zakat assistance. Tengku Ahmad Nadzri also noted that Ketengah received a zakat rebate of RM1.9 million, which is being distributed to eligible recipients. This year, RM500,000 has been allocated to 2,560 recipients across eight parliamentary constituencies in Terengganu.
