Kota bharu: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, and the Sultanah of Kelantan, Sultanah Nur Diana Petra Abdullah, participated in the 'Walkathon D'Raja Walk With Me 2026' at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, attracting over 10,000 participants. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Their Royal Highnesses arrived at approximately 11.18 pm to inaugurate the event, with Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud also in attendance. The event included a 3.2-kilometre walk that took participants from the stadium to the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters and the Kelantan State Tourism Information Centre before returning to the stadium. The opening ceremony featured a drone display of 350 drones forming 10 formations, highlighting Kelantan's traditions and culture such as gasing, ubi rebana, and wayang kulit. This was part of the initiative to promote the state during Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Participant Rudeyhazle Che Ramli, 50, expressed excitement about participating in the event and walking alongsid e the Sultan, noting the ruler's connection with the people. He remarked that events like these foster community bonds, friendships, and healthy living. Siti Annassalwani Kamaruzaman, 32, shared her hope for the programme to become an annual event, aiming to draw tourists and showcase the state's cultural heritage.
