Kelantan: Kelantan police have set up a special task force to track down individuals involved in scrawling threatening graffiti on the front wall of the Kelantan Police Contingent firing range in Gunong, Bachok. Its chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat stated that police were gathering information, including from local residents, to trace those involved and assured that firm action would be taken against those responsible.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Yusoff described the act as insolent, challenging the credibility of the security forces by threatening the authorities who are engaged in combating crime. This incident marked the first time he had received such a threat openly and in writing. He believes the threat was directed at him due to the police's firm stance against various criminal activities, including drugs, loan sharks, and organized crime in the state. The case is currently being investigated under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Mohd Yusoff emphasized that no threat would undermine his or the Kelantan police personnel's resolve in fulfilling their duty to safeguard public safety and maintain social harmony. Images of the threatening graffiti, painted in red on the wall of the firing range and believed to have been made on Dec 22, went viral on social media yesterday.
