Kota bharu: The Kelantan Road Transport Department (JPJ) has detected offences involving driving instructors and Learner's Driving Licences (LDL) during a Special Enforcement Operation targeting driving institutes conducted at 12 driving institutes in the state from Aug 3 until yesterday. Its director, Mohd Misuari Abdullah, highlighted various infractions, including the failure to produce the Driving Institute Instructor's Certificate (SPIM) and non-compliance with LDL requirements when vehicles were used without instructor supervision.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, other offences uncovered involved records and statements, technical vehicle maintenance, failure to display the Puspakom inspection disc, as well as expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM). 'A total of 350 vehicles were inspected, with action taken against 43 of them, while 100 notices were issued for various offences,' Mohd Misuari told Bernama recently.

Mohd Misuari emphasized that compliance with regulations is crucial as driving institute vehicles are used to train candidates before they sit for their driving tests. He mentioned that there are 16 driving institutes in Kelantan, and JPJ will continue to conduct regular inspections to ensure that the management of instructors, records, maintenance, and vehicle safety met the set requirements.
