Kota kinabalu: The Kedai Jujur Programme provides an ideal platform for students to cultivate integrity values and prepare them to face the challenges of an increasingly complex world, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. He said the Kedai Jujur concept can also serve as an early safeguard against dishonest behaviour among school students.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the concept draws inspiration from a long-standing tradition in Sabah communities, where unmanned stalls display goods alongside a payment box, relying entirely on the honesty of buyers. ‘This culture has formed the basis of the Kedai Jujur Programme in schools, ensuring that these values continue to be instilled in the younger generation,’ he said when launching the programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Mutiara here today.

He emphasised that instilling integrity in children is not the sole responsibility of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) but a duty that must be shared by the entire community. He also conveyed his appreciation to the MACC, the Sabah Education Department and SuriaGroup for their commitment to implementing the 2025 Kedai Jujur Programme.

Hajiji added that the programme is being rolled out in 10 schools across Sabah, including in Kota Kinabalu, Kudat, Sandakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu. He further announced a special allocation of RM20,000 for SK Mutiara to support its activities.
