Kedah Unity Convention Outlines Five Key Resolutions To Recapture State

Kuala Lumpur: In a concerted effort to recapture Kedah in the next general election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) have outlined five key resolutions at the Kedah Unity Convention 2025 today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the resolutions endorsed by both parties include the formation of a joint secretariat to streamline political strategies and ensure coordination. PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also revealed plans to set up shadow committees for each exco portfolio in Kedah, creating a system of checks and balances on the state government’s policies and actions.

‘This initiative is crucial to hold the state government accountable for its actions,’ said Saifuddin, who is also the Minister of Home Affairs and Kedah PH chairman. ‘We won’t tolerate constant criticism of the Federal Government without scrutiny of the state’s administration,’ he said after closing the convention here today.

The convention was attended by nearly 1,000 delegates, with BN Kedah chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid also present. ‘This is just the beginning. We will organise more joint programmes, including a state-wide tour with our youth and women’s wings to strengthen our presence across Kedah,’ said Saifuddin.

Confident in the coalition’s ambition, he remarked that nothing is impossible in politics.
