Kedah Schools to Remain Open Despite Haze Concerns

Accra:Kedah All educational institutions in Kedah are set to operate as usual tomorrow, as Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at all monitoring areas in the state have been recorded below 100 as of 2 PM today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kedah State Education Department (JPN) issued a statement confirming the decision, while noting that it remains subject to any further directives from the Ministry of Education and relevant authorities.

The statement expressed appreciation for the concern and decree of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the safety, health, and welfare of students and education personnel amid the haze affecting several areas in the country.

The department reminded school administrators and educational institutions to stay alert to the latest developments, monitor API readings through official Department of Environment channels, and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and health of students and staff.

Additionally, schools have been advised to pay close attention to individuals experiencing health issues, particularly those sensitive to air quality conditions, and to take suitable action if any signs of ill health are observed.

The Kedah JPN assured that it will continue to monitor the haze situation closely and coordinate with all District Education Offices and educational institutions based on the latest readings and directives from the authorities.
