Kedah PMR Carnival Attracts 127,000 Visitors, Highlights Government Services

Baling: The Kedah MADANI Rakyat carnival (PMR) concluded successfully, recording a total of 127,535 visitors over its three-day run, offering a variety of government services directly to the public.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, on the first day of the PMR held at the Baling District Council Sports Complex, 29,560 visitors attended the program, while the following day saw 41,954 visitors. The final day, themed ‘Rakyat Prihatin, Negara Aman, Masa Depan Terjamin,’ attracted 56,021 visitors.

A visitor, Adam Raismaini Mahadir, 15, expressed his enthusiasm about attending the program, which resonated well with the local community. He was particularly interested in the Home Ministry (KDN) booth, especially the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), where he learned about security equipment and even handled real firearms for the first time. Adam aspires to become a police officer.

Another visitor, Mohd Azri Iskandar Abdul Muiz, 15, arrived early with his schoolmates to explore the exhibitions. He found the program enjoyable and educational, hoping for more such events in rural areas.

The PMR featured various engaging programs, including booths from federal and state government agencies, Rahmah MADANI Sales, Agro MADANI Sales, discounts on traffic summonses, health services, job opportunities, and a free helmet exchange. Visitors could also take home plant seeds, change motorcycle engine oil, and enjoy a free haircut.

The event demonstrated the government’s commitment to providing services directly to the public through a closer and more inclusive approach. The highlight of the PMR was the closing ceremony attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
