Kedah JPN Verifies School Pupil’s Fall from Third Floor

Kedah: The Kedah State Education Department (JPN Kedah) has confirmed an incident today involving a Year Five pupil falling from the third floor of a school located in the Padang Terap district.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incident occurred during the afternoon session of the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) class. The Kedah JPN, in a statement, mentioned that the pupil had returned home before coming back for the KAFA session. The unfortunate event took place before the class began, as the pupil climbed alone into the ceiling space on that floor.

It is believed that the pupil was attempting to catch a pigeon inside the ceiling space via the fire hose access point. Further information regarding the incident is expected to be released soon, as per the statement.

Meanwhile, Padang Terap police chief Supt Mohd Anuar Junoh reported that the police received a call from a teacher at the school around 4 pm, alerting them about the incident. At the time, the victim was at the school to attend the KAFA class. The victim, who suffered injuries to several parts of the body, is currently undergoing treatment at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar.
