ALOR SETAR: Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) will hold a convention on Dec 14, aimed at strengthening cooperation among the component parties in the state. Kedah UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid announced that approximately 800 BN leaders from various levels are expected to attend the convention, which will be officiated by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The convention will serve as a platform to discuss a range of issues, including those that may have been previously overlooked, with the aim of fortifying the party’s unity.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mahdzir expressed confidence that the federal government would continue to support Kedah, particularly in addressing the aftermath of the recent floods. Despite the critical stance often taken by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor towards the federal administration, Mahdzir remains optimistic about ongoing federal assistance.
