Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) recorded seizures amounting to RM11 million through Ops Tiris Bersepadu 4.0 carried out between March 16 and April 12, 2026. Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the seizures resulted from 13,759 inspections conducted nationwide, involving various commodities including diesel, petrol, and controlled goods. The operation also recorded 239 cases, with 68 individuals arrested for various offences.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ops Tiris Bersepadu 4.0 involves enforcement on land by KPDN, at sea and in waters by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, and at the border by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). This monitoring involves cooperation among various agencies, as well as the use of data-based systems to detect unusual transactions in real time. The seizure involved 865,205 litres of diesel, 26,408 litres of petrol, and 26,408 kg of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The remaining cases involved other commodities such as cooking oil, sugar, and flour.

When asked about reports of diesel shortages at some petrol stations in several states which went viral on social media, Fuziah said the issue was an isolated case involving fuel supplies from foreign companies. She mentioned that for Petronas petrol stations supplied domestically, there was no issue of shortage or supply disruption, as the government had taken steps to ensure that the people were not affected. There was a statement from the distributor saying it was related to fuel supplies from outside or foreign companies. Sometimes they face minor challenges in terms of supply, occasionally deliveries are slightly slow.

Meanwhile, Fuziah noted that 368,911 vehicles had been approved under the Subsidised Diesel Control System from June 10, 2024, to March 30. She stated that the government had maintained a subsidy rate of RM1.88 per litre for public transport and RM2.15 per litre for goods transport to ensure that the food supply chain and logistics were not affected, and to help control inflationary pressures. At the same time, KPDN continues to strengthen the Gerakan Membanteras Manipulasi dan Ketrisan (WE ARE WE) initiative by encouraging the active involvement of industry players and the community as strategic partners in efforts to combat leakage.
