KBS To Consider Turning Stadium Juara Into Badminton Training Ground

Kuala lumpur: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) will consider the proposal by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to utilize Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara as an additional training venue for the national badminton squad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Youth and Sports Minister, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, stated that discussions with Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) are planned for after Hari Raya Aidilfitri to deliberate on the proposal. Dr Taufiq mentioned that BAM had raised the issue during their visit to his office two weeks ago, highlighting that using the stadium could reduce transport and logistics expenses.

Dr Taufiq also expressed that a decision that benefits the athletes would likely be made post-Raya. During his visit to Akademi Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara, he toured the facilities and interacted with national players. He noted that the national badminton squad's performance is currently satisfactory but urged players to avoid complacency and continuously aim for improvement.

He emphasized the importance of public support for the athletes, cautioning against negative comments due to their potential harmful impact on the athletes' morale.
