Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will announce the national contingent’s medal tally target for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in November. KBS deputy secretary-general (management), Abdullah Hassan, stated that the target would be disclosed following the final meeting in November, a month before the biennial games commence in December.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdullah Hassan mentioned that a target has not yet been established as negotiations regarding the events in Thailand are ongoing. Once the complete list of sports is finalized, the medal collection target for the athletes and national contingent will be set.

Abdullah identified several sporting events with potential for medal contributions, including badminton and hockey. He shared these insights during a discussion after officiating the Kelantan State Level National Sports Day Opening Ceremony.

Thailand is set to host the 33rd SEA Games from December 9 to 20.
