KBS Monitoring Developments Of Clubs Planning To Quit Super League

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Youth and Sports is keeping a close eye on the local football landscape following reports that several clubs may pull out of the Super League. Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said the move was crucial to prevent major conflicts in the future and to preserve the harmony of the nation's sports ecosystem.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry is actively monitoring developments and engaging in discussions to find the best resolution to avoid large-scale conflicts. The ministry is committed to staying informed and collaborating with relevant parties, recognizing that the decisions rest with the clubs themselves.

Dr Mohammed Taufiq highlighted the importance of communication with stakeholders, such as the Football Association of Malaysia, to prevent a potential crisis that could threaten the stability of the league. He acknowledged the varied reactions on social media regarding the future of some top teams in the country.

The minister noted that while the clubs' decisions are strategic, particularly in financial terms, the ministry remains open to their prerogatives. Last Thursday, Bernama reported that Terengganu FC is considering competing in the A1 Semi-Pro League next season, with the club's leadership citing financial constraints as a significant issue under consideration. Terengganu State Football Association President Hishamuddin Abdul Karim mentioned that the club is still evaluating its options and requires more time for discussion before making any final decisions.
