Seremban: Barely having recovered from the loss of renowned broadcast journalist Datuk Karam Singh Walia on April 6, his family has been struck by another tragedy after his eldest daughter passed away on Wednesday morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, news of Sharonjit Kaur Walia's passing, at the age of 44, was confirmed by her husband, Kashminder Singh Sandhu. He stated that she died in her sleep at their residence at D'Palma @ Taman Pinang Gading, Sikamat, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Kashminder mentioned that prior to her passing, Sharonjit did not suffer from any health issues.
The ceremony to pay final respects took place yesterday at their residence. Prayer ceremonies are scheduled for May 24 at Gurdwara Sahib Seremban. Kashminder described his wife as a senior English lecturer at the General Studies Department of Port Dickson Polytechnic. He reflected on her dedication to teaching and how she influenced her students.
The couple is survived by two children, aged 10 and six. News of the lecturer's passing was also shared by Politeknik Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The institution expressed its condolences and acknowledged her contributions through a Facebook post, emphasizing her impact and legacy within the community.
