Beruas: Kampung Kasi founder and former Malaysian Armed Forces serviceman E. Kasinadan passed away from old age at his residence in Kampung Kasi near Beruas at approximately 5 am today. He was 85 years old and leaves behind a legacy of community development and military service.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kasinadan is survived by nine children, which include seven sons and two daughters. Among them is K. Ghandi, who serves as an editor with the Policy and Strategic Planning Division of the Malaysian National News Agency. Ghandi shared that his father established Kampung Kasi about 44 years ago near Saffora Estate, transforming it into a thriving settlement.
Kasinadan's career in the Malaysian Armed Forces spanned from January 6, 1966, to January 5, 1982, during which he participated in operations against communist insurgents. Post-retirement, he chose to reside in Kampung Kasi, dedicating the rest of his life to the community he helped build.
Ghandi also highlighted his father's political and community involvement, noting his roles as head of the Kampung Kasi MIC branch and his participation in numerous local associations and non-governmental organizations. He described Kasinadan as a disciplined individual who valued education and independence, consistently encouraging his family to uphold integrity, mutual respect, and community spirit.
Kasinadan's cremation is scheduled to take place at the Manjung Hindu Sabah Crematorium in Sitiawan at 1 pm tomorrow.
