Kampung Beng Police Post Boosts Safety In Nearby Areas – Home Ministry

Kuala Lumpur: The Home Ministry (KDN) announced an allocation of RM11.3 million for the construction of a permanent police post in Kampung Beng here today. Its deputy minister, Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, said initial construction work would commence this year on the two-hectare area near the village.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the construction of the police post aims to facilitate services such as complaints or police reports lodged by residents of Kampung Beng and its nearby areas. Dr Shamsul highlighted that the post would enhance security, particularly once the new route between Kampung Beng and Intan Suraya (Sungai Siput) is operational. This new route is expected to provide an alternative for people from the East Coast, helping them avoid traffic congestion on the North-South Expressway.

Dr Shamsul also mentioned that the ministry believes the post will boost the confidence of tourists visiting the village. Construction of the temporary police post began on October 10 last year and was completed on April 30 this year. Operations at the police post, manned by three police personnel, have already begun, with the post open daily from 8 am to 5 pm.

These measures were implemented to allow residents to lodge complaints more easily compared to the previous situation, where they had to travel to the Lenggong Police Station, which is situated at a considerable distance. Dr Shamsul expressed gratitude to the Lenggong district and land office for their assistance in realizing the project.
